A tan, twelve months of the year
The Costa Blanca has approximately 260 more days of sunshine than the UK, which is why so many people are drawn to come here throughout the year.
The most popular time to visit is between May and October, when you can be guaranteed warm sunny weather for most of the time. July is the hottest month, and also has the least rainfall of any other month.
At the height of the summer, temperatures can be as high as 40°C and the sea an amazingly warm 25°C, warmer than a heated pool.
For most of the summer months the temperature is a comfortable 20 - 25°C and in the winter months it is usually never lower than 12°C, so you can sunbathe and swim all year round.
Whatever time of year you choose to visit, you’ll discover the health benefits of the climate here. Sunshine is proven to be good for you; it is thought to reduce the risks of some cancers and provides essential Vitamin D, which is vital for health.
If you’re not sure what to pack, start by bringing much less than you think you should. Pack a couple of pairs of shorts and don’t forget your swimming costume because you won’t be able to resist a swim in the crystal clear, warm sea.
You may need a jumper and jacket in the winter but you won’t need that heavy winter coat. Don’t worry if you forget anything because you can pick up some bargain clothes, even designer labels, in the shops and markets here.
